Why Choose Our Baby House Program?

Choosing infant and toddler care is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and The Baby House at Learning Empowered is here to offer peace of mind, expert care, and a nurturing start for your child.

When you choose The Baby House, you’re choosing a program that empowers babies and supports families, starting on day one.

Here’s why families choose us:

Our Response To The Need In Pinellas County

The demand for quality infant and toddler care in Pinellas County is at a crisis level. Families are struggling to find safe, affordable care for children under 3, just when early brain development is most critical for future success.

Our Solution: The Baby House

Opening August 2025, The Baby House is Learning Empowered’s dedicated space for babies ages 8 weeks to 2 years old, located right on our campus.

Thanks to support from the Juvenile Welfare Board (JWB) through Capital Projects funding, we’ve transformed an existing home at our Learning Empowered Campus into a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment with:

  • Highly trained caregivers

  • Safe, engaging spaces for early learning

  • High-quality infant and toddler care

  • All at an affordable price

Why It Matters

Infant care costs can average $300–$400 per week, putting it out of reach for many families. The Baby House helps bridge that gap by supporting early development and giving families the reliable care they need at an affordable cost.

Our Ongoing Commitment

We’re advocating for increased investment in care for children birth to three and expanding services to support neurodiverse children and those with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Building The Baby House

This project has been expertly spearheaded by our Facilities Manager, Bob Bruso, whose dedication and leadership have brought us from dream to reality. After months of planning, our architectural drawings were completed in May 2024 and submitted for review to the City of St. Petersburg. Following several revisions and hard work, we proudly received our building permit in January 2025!

Since then, we’ve completed interior demolition and are now in the exciting early stages of reconstruction. Our target: to wrap up construction by the end of the summer so we can begin inspections, install furnishings, and prepare for our very first group of little learners to start in the new school year.

This June, in collaboration with our staff, we were lucky to welcome an energetic team of volunteers from TD Synnex. Thanks to our wonderful board member and SVP of Credit at TD Synnex, Jay Snyder, we had a fantastic volunteer day that helped us take huge steps forward. From resodding and painting a bright, welcoming exterior mural to helping organize furniture for the new building, their support has been invaluable.

With every brush stroke and box moved, we’re getting closer to our vision, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with our community. Join us this September for our official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony as we open the doors of the Baby House and begin a new chapter in early childhood education at Learning Empowered!
