Kathalin Carvalho, J.D., M.A., LL.M.
President of the Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Council, Adjunct Professor, and Director of the Coalition of Hispanic Artists
Kathalin Carvalho is an award-winning philanthropist and community leader recognized for her dedicated service to the Hispanic community in Hillsborough County. She was named Philanthropist of the Year by Tampa Bay Business and Wealth Magazine in 2024 and honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida in 2023. In 2018, she received the Leadership Class Award from Tampa Hispanic Heritage Inc., highlighting her long-standing commitment to the community.
Ms. Carvalho currently serves as President of the Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Council and as a Director of the Coalition of Hispanic Artists, among other civic roles. With a professional background in philanthropy, nonprofit management, and community relations, she also brings expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management, and ethics within domestic and international corporations. She is a college professor, an advocate for education and speaks three languages.
She holds a law degree and master degrees in Criminology from the University of South Florida and International Law and Business from Stetson University College of Law. A passionate world traveler, Kathalin enjoys flamenco dancing, watching sports and boating with family and friends during her free time.
